'Al-Qaida suspect' arrested in Belfast
Police in the North have arrested a man suspected of having links to Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida network.
Sources said the man was of north African origin and was also suspected of links to other Islamic and Middle Eastern militant groups.
The man was arrested in Belfast, but details of when and where have not been revealed.
He is being questioned by detectives investigating possible plots to attack targets in the United Kingdom.
A PSNI spokesman said the man was being questioned about "serious crime" and on suspicion of possessing information which could be of use to "terrorists".
