FG wants driving test system overhauled

Fine Gael is calling for a complete overhaul of the driving test system.

Provisional licence holders generally have to wait 12 months for a test and almost half fail on their first attempt.

Fine Gael's transport spokesman, Denis Naughton, says the whole system needs urgent reform and that “the minister would be better off prioritising the mess that’s there in relation to the driving test... before looking at the issue of enforcement”.
