Radio Kilkenny accepts broadcasting extension

The Directors of Radio Kilkenny confirmed today that they have accepted a two month extension to their broadcasting licence, as granted by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI).

The licence was due to expire at the end of September following Radio Kilkenny’s recent loss of a High Court Action against the BCI decision to award a new licence for the Carlow and Kilkenny area to a private consortium.

However, Joe Reidy, Chairman, Radio Kilkenny confirmed that they are going ahead with their appeal to the Supreme Court which they expect to be heard next month.
