More than half of Irish adults believe a total ban on smoking in Irish pubs and restaurants is excessive, according to a survey commissioned by the Irish Cigarette Machine Operators Association.

The Government is planning to introduce the ban in all workplaces, including pubs and restaurants, on January 1.
