Rescuers fail to find crashed aircraft in Kerry
There is no trace of a light aircraft that reportedly crashed in Kerry tonight.
Eyewitnesses had claimed seeing a plane crash into Stradbally mountains near Lispole after 6pm this evening.
Gardaí and mountain rescue teams have come off the hill tonight and a Shannon rescue helicopter has returned to its base after a search near Dingle Peninsula failed to find any trace of the aircraft.
The Irish Aviation Authority says no distress calls had been received from aircraft in the area.
The search is expected to widen in the morning.
