Cullen does u-turn on smoking ban

Environment Minister Martin Cullen has insisted that he was speaking in a personal capacity as a smoker yesterday when he expressed his opposition to the proposed workplace ban yesterday.

Mr Cullen had said the ban was over-the-top and represented an unwarranted importation of US political correctness.
