Italy to sort out 'Irish Box' by autumn

The Italian government says it wants to sort out the issue of fishing rights in the Irish Box by the autumn.

The European Commission has briefed the Fisheries Council and Ministers in Brussels on a recovery plan for hake and cod in Irish and other EU waters.

Italy currently holds the presidency of the EU.

Ireland wants the Irish Box issue dealt with before the recovery plan is addressed.
