Finglas gun victim 'linked to local feud'

Gardaí in Dublin believe the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was found in Finglas earlier this week was linked to feud between criminals in the city.

Victor Murphy's body was found on Dunsink Lane on Monday morning - he had died from a gunshot wound to the head that gardaí believe was inflicted accidentally while he was travelling in a car with at least one accomplice.

Detectives have reportedly identified the accomplice, and he is apparently being investigated in connection with the murder of Michael Scott and Willie O'Regan earlier this year.

He was also allegedly part of a group involved in a dispute with O'Regan.

Scott was shot dead at his home in Ballymun in April following an altercation at a party in Finglas.

Gardaí believe O'Regan's murder in Finglas last month was a revenge attack for Scott's killing.
