Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams is due to meet officials from the Parades Commission today to discuss a loyalist march in west Belfast tomorrow.

The commission granted permission for the Orange Order parade to pass through the so-called 'peaceline' between the Falls and Shankill areas and march down the mainly nationalist Springfield Road.

However, it also placed restrictions on the playing of music and the number of hangers-on who could accompany the parade.

Mr Adams requested today's meeting with the commission to ask why it rejected compromise proposals submitted by the local nationalist residents.
