Gardai probe suspicious death in Dublin

Gardai in west Dublin are investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found in a house in Walkinstown last night.

The body, which apparently had a visible stab wound to the back of the head, was found in a downstairs bedroom in the house.

Gardai were alerted after receiving an emergency call at around 10.45pm.

The victim is believed to be in her 30s and, although she was staying in the house, is not thought to be from the locality.

The scene in Walkinstown has been sealed off pending technical examination and a post mortem will be carried out later today.
