Cowen to visit Balkan states

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Brian Cowen, begins a three-day tour of the Balkan States today, in preparation for Ireland's presidency of the EU next year.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Brian Cowen, begins a three-day tour of the Balkan States today, in preparation for Ireland's presidency of the EU next year.

The European Union will increase by 10 countries during the Irish presidency, which begins in January 2004.

Mr Cowen is expected to visit Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo during his tour of the region.
