Harney launches jobs initiative for disabled

The Tanaiste, Mary Harney, has launched an initiative today aimed at helping disabled people to find work.

The initiative will be run by the recruitment website Irishjobs.ie, which has promised to raise awareness of the help available to employers and job-seekers with disabilities.

The company has revamped its website to make it more accessible to people with disabilities and is also sponsoring a range of information programmes.

Up to 70% of disabled people in Ireland are currently unemployed.
