Public health doctors are to return to the picket lines after exploratory talks at the Labour Relations Commission ended without success.

The Irish Medical Organisation said no new proposals were made by the Health Service Employers Agency and described the discussions as merely a delaying tactic.

IMO spokesman Fintan Hourihane said the assurances they had received before entering the talks had now been exposed as meaningless, and the strike will go on.
