Murder inquiry launched after farmer found dead

Gardaí have launched a murder inquiry after an 83-year-old farmer was found dead at his home in Co Clare.

A man in his 50s, believed to be a relative of the farmer, is being questioned about the death.

The incident happened near the village of Belharbour.

The dead man was understood to have been attacked with a hatchet.
