Brennan unveils memorial to Countess

The Minister for Transport has unveiled a memorial to Countess Constance Markievicz in Co Sligo.

Countess Markievicz fought in the 1916 Easter Rising and played an important role in the establishment of the State.

Seamus Brennan unveiled a bronze sculpture in the village of Rathcormac chosen because of its proximity to the Countess' home, Lissadell.
