Elderly woman dies in road accident in Cork

A 91-year-old woman has died following a collision between two cars in Co Cork.

Gardai say the accident happened on a relatively straight stretch of road in Kilcanway, near Mallow at around 11.30pm last night.

It is believed the woman, who was a front-seat passenger in one of the vehicles, died at the scene. Gardai in Mallow are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
