The estranged wife of a Donegal garda accused of staging hoax explosives finds, has told the Morris Tribunal her only motivation for giving evidence is to tell the truth.

Mrs Sheenagh McMahon will face cross-examination from her husband's legal team tomorrow.

So far, she has provided numerous details to the court. She told how her husband detective Noel McMahon, along with Superintendent Kevin Lennon, had stored an unassembled bomb at their family home.

The witness also detailed how her husband held a gun to her head and threatened to shoot her, and how she discovered mortar bomb parts and detonators in her garden shed.

Other items of disclosure to the Tribunal included her husband's mentions of dealings with IRA informer Adrienne McGlinchey, adding gardai allowed McGlinchey to carry out a bomb attack in Strabane to protect her identity.

Mrs McMahon also alleged that McGlinchey had threatened both her and her children over "loose talk".
