Czech family in hiding over deportation order

The Irish refugee council is appealing for a Czech family, who have gone into hiding after losing a bid to prevent their deportation, to contact their lawyers.

The council says it accepts in principle the ruling by the European Court of Human Rights against the joint bid by the Lobe family and a Nigerian man to stay in the state as parents of Irish-born children.

IRC Chief Executive Peter O'Mahony says the family staying in hiding will achieve nothing.

Mr O'Mahony said: "The one piece of advice would be to make direct contact with their lawyers and to be advised at all times by them.

"Disappearing ultimately does not work to anybody's advantage."
