Sinn Fein chairman Mitchel McLaughlin has said that efforts to save the peace process will fail if the Irish and British governments establish sanctions for parties linked to paramilitaries who breach their ceasefires.

Sinn Fein chairman Mitchel McLaughlin has said that efforts to save the peace process will fail if the Irish and British governments establish sanctions for parties linked to paramilitaries who breach their ceasefires.

Mr McLaughlin said any move towards sanctions would be a breach of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, which ended 30 years of Troubles in the North.
