One dead, another injured in hit-and-run
It has now emerged that one man was killed and another injured in what Gardai think was a 'hit-and-run' incident last night in Co Meath.
The two men were walking along the Navan-Slane road shortly after 10pm last night, when they were struck by a car at Donaghmore.
The vehicle, which failed to stop, is described as a metallic blue van with a roof rack.
Both men were taken to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan where one, aged 34, died.
Gardai have not released his name as of yet.
The second pedestrian, an 18-year-old, remains in hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
