Two pipe bomb attacks on bars in north Belfast last night and a security alert on the Shankill Road are all being blamed on the internal feud within the UDA.

A pipe bomb was placed on the Upper Crumlin Road at about 10pm, with shrapnel blasting across the road damaging the bar.

Several people were treated for shock.

A second pipe bomb was then thrown at the Cavehill Inn also in west Belfast damaging a shutter and a house with a woman being treated for shock.

The police said if the shutter had not been down, the bomb could have caused injury or death.

A suspect device was found outside a social club on the Shankill Road and a security alert there is continuing.
