Woman dies in Co Derry road accident

A woman has died after the car she was driving collided with another vehicle in Co Derry this morning.

The accident happened on the Ballykelly Road at around 8.15am.

The dead woman's husband, who was travelling with her, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A British soldier based at Ballykelly barracks died in another road accident just a few miles away in the centre of Limavady last night.

The two fatalities bring the road death toll in the North so far this year to eight.
