British soldier dies in Co Derry crash

A 36-year-old British soldier has died in a road accident in Co Derry.

Police said Corporal Keith Lewis appeared to have lost control of his car in Limavady town centre before colliding with another vehicle.

Two people travelling in the second car, a 59-year-old woman and her two-year-old grandson, were injured in the accident and taken to hospital.

The soldier, who was based three miles from the scene at Ballykelly barracks, died at the scene.
