Gardai seek man involved in Cork abduction

Gardai in Cork are hunting for a man who abducted and beat another man in the city overnight.

The victim was bundled into a white van as he walked along Great William O'Brien street in Blackpool at about 8 pm.

He was then taken to a field near Fairhill where he was beaten with iron bars and a concrete block.

The victim is now being treated in hospital for a broken leg, broken arm and extensive bruising.
