The Irish Road Haulage Association is due to meet Environment Minister Martin Cullen tomorrow to discuss increases in road and diesel taxes announced in the Budget last week.

IRHA President Sean Delaney said his members will go on strike and mount blockades in Dublin unless the minister backtracks on some of the Budget measures.

"There was a meeting in Portlaoise last Friday night and they wanted to get 200 trucks into Dublin this week," he said.

"If I don't come out with some positive answer from the Department of the Environment tomorrow, I can no longer hold our members on the road."
