CORI: Budget should help poor and marginalised
The Conference of Religious of Ireland wants the Budget to help the poor and marginalised.
Spokesperson Fr Sean Healy was very clear in his demands.
"A social welfare payment for a single person would rise by €14 a week, €24 a week for a couple.
"There would be a focus on tackling the issue of social housing. We have watched a waiting list develop in recent years.
"And thirdly a substantial focus on tackling the infrastructure and social provision deficits we have."
