Spokesperson Fr Sean Healy was very clear in his demands.

"A social welfare payment for a single person would rise by €14 a week, €24 a week for a couple.

"There would be a focus on tackling the issue of social housing. We have watched a waiting list develop in recent years.

"And thirdly a substantial focus on tackling the infrastructure and social provision deficits we have."
