Murphy to outline status of peace process
Northern Secretary Paul Murphy will outline the latest developments in the peace process when he addresses the 25th plenary meeting of the British-Irish inter-parliamentary body in Manchester today.
Mr Murphy is expected to make a significant announcement regarding the return of the Stormont Assembly.
Almost 60 politicians from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man and Jersey are expected to attend the two-day meeting to discuss matters of common interest.
Also present will be a delegation from Nordic countries who are anxious to here British assurances about the safety of Sellafield.
The joint Irish-Scottish bid for the 2008 European soccer championships will also be on the agenda.
