Garda vehicle overturned in collision

Two gardaí are recovering after a collision on Co Louth earlier this morning.

They had set up a road block at Carnbeg on the Armagh Road to halt a vehicle which had earlier failed to stop for gardaí.

Shortly after 2.30am, the vehicle approached the roadblock and again failed to stop.

It collided with the garda car, overturning both vehicles.

The two gardai were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where they were treated for minor injuries. One man has been arrested.
