Sausage raiders tie up security man, steal four trucks

Gardaí in Tallaght have launched an appeal for information on a raid that took place at Cookstown Industrial Estate in the early hours of this morning.

The burglary happened at about 1am when a security man at the Kerry Foods premises was overpowered and tied up by a gang of up to eight men.

The raiders took four trucks. Gardaí say the trucks are loaded with mainly Denny sausages, rashers, hams and cheeses. As the products have a short shelf life, the culprits may try to sell them at markets to traders in the next few days.

They say each truck is a rigid type with tail lifts. The registration numbers are:

1. 94 SO 2119

2. 96 TS 3302

3. 96 SO 2396

4. 96 D 37522 (This vehicle has a yellow 'National Truck Rental' Logo)
