Pressure rising on Connell to release statement

Pressure is mounting on Cardinal Desmond Connell to make a statement in relation to accusations that he failed to pass on information on clerical sex abuse allegations to the Gardai.

A spokesman for the Dublin Archdiocese has said that no statement will be issued before tea-time.
