46 jobs to go at Oasis Ireland in Ballina

It has been confirmed that 46 jobs are to go at the Oasis Ireland water cooler company in Mayo.

The US owned company employs 123 people in it's European base in Ballina and has been operating there since the early 1990s.

A spokesperson for the company has denied that the operation will move to Poland where Oasis already has a production facility.

The company has blamed the lay-offs on the world-wide downturn in the economy.
