Gardaí search for escaped prisoners

A search is underway for two female prisoners who have escaped from Dublin's Mountjoy prison.

Both are serving sentences for assault.

The women, in their early twenties, absconded at around 5pm yesterday afternoon.

They were last seen heading in to the Phibsboro area of north Dublin.
