IHS welcomes publication of Lindsay report

The Irish Haemophilia Society has welcomed the publication today of the Lindsay Tribunal’s final report.

The Irish Haemophilia Society has welcomed the publication today of the Lindsay Tribunal’s final report.

The tribunal was established to investigate the infection of Irish haemophiliacs with HIV and Hepatitis C through contaminated blood products supplied by the Irish Blood Transfusion Service.

IHS spokesman Brian O’Mahony welcomed the publication of the report, but said his organisation wants time to study its contents before making an official response.

“If the report isn’t to our satisfaction, then I can guarantee you that you’ll be hearing that from us in the coming days in a more fulsome manner,” he said.

“I really don’t want to rush into judgement here. We welcome the publication of the report, but the detailed analysis of the content of the report is something we’ll be doing over the next number of days.”
