LRC talks continue in bid to avoid doctors' strike

Talks are continuing at the Labour Relations Commission in Dublin in a bid to stave off nationwide industrial action by junior doctors.

The Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) claims that new rosters will affect doctors’ training.

The IMO and the Health Service Employers' Agency have been set a September 16 deadline by the LRC to reach a compromise.

Work-to-rule action at hospitals in Waterford and Tullamore has already seen non-emergency surgery cancelled.
