Residents dump missiles at Police Board offices
Angry Short Strand residents dumped the remnants of fire works, bolts, golf balls, pipe bombs and other missiles at the Policing Board's Belfast offices earlier today.
The nationalist home owners said loyalists had thrown the objects into the Clandeboye area during another night of trouble at the notorious east Belfast interface.
A group of 15 residents unveiled a banner which read 'Short Strand Against Sectarianism' before accusing the Policing Board of remaining silent over what they see as a police campaign of ''misinformation''.
Earlier SDLP Minister for Finance and Personnel Sean Farren said support for the police force had increased in the nationalist community.
The North Antrim assembly member's comments came on the first anniversary of his party's decision to take up its seats on the 19-member Policing Board.
