The Irish Congress of Trade Unions is in talks with officials from the Department of Finance today to discuss the benchmarking report on pay for public servants.

The report recommends an average 9% pay rise for Ireland’s 230,000 public sector workers, but the Government has insisted that this will not be paid unless all the unions involved accept the terms of the report.
