SIPTU seeks price controls to combat inflation

SIPTU has urged the Government to introduce price freezes on goods and services that are pushing up inflation.

The union’s vice-president, Jack O’Connor, warned that unless something is done to combat price rises, SIPTU will seek compensatory pay increases on behalf of its members. He also added that the price freezes should only be a temporary measure.
