Adams denies IRA involvement in riots

Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams has denied claims by police chiefs that IRA members were involved in the recent violence in east Belfast.

Emerging from a two-hour meeting with leading loyalist David Ervine, Mr Adams said republicans did not have a plan to create tension in interface areas.
