Thousands say final farewell to John B

Thousands of people - including dignitaries from the worlds of politics, entertainment and sport -attended the funeral of John B Keane in Co Kerry today.

The funeral service was held at 11am in the parish church in Listowel, Co Kerry.

Among the mourners were President Mary McAleese and close friend Neil Toibin.

Others to attend included Fine Gael TD Jimmy Deenihan, actor Patrick Bergin and Munster rugby great Mick Galwey.

Mr Keane was laid to rest in the Listowel Old Cemetery.
