John B Keane buried this morning

Acclaimed playwright John B Keane will be buried in his native Listowel this morning, after losing his battle with illness on Thursday.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. after which Mr Keane will be laid to rest at Listowel Old Cemetery.

His remains were removed to his parish church in Listowel, Co Kerry yesterday evening.

Among the mourners will be President Mary McAleese and close friend Neil Toibin.
