Bodies confirmed as those of missing brothers

Gardai searching for two missing brothers in Co Carlow have recovered their bodies from the River Barrow in Bagenalstown this evening.

Gardai searching for two missing brothers in Co Carlow have recovered their bodies from the River Barrow in Bagenalstown this evening.

The first body was taken from the river opposite Barrow Lane, while the second was found a number of hours later at 6pm.

Gardai have formally identified the remains as those of 39-year-old Jody McGrath and his 36-year-old brother, Jim, who were last seen in Bagenalstown at 10.30 on Saturday night.

They also said there was nothing to indicate foul play in connection with the deaths.
