Ahern sympathises with pie-victim Noonan

Fianna Fáil leader Bertie Ahern said the pie attack on Fine Gael leader Michael Noonan was part of the nasty elements in politics.

The Fianna Fáil leader was speaking as he took the general election campaign to Athenry in Co Galway this afternoon.

Mr Ahern was also the victim of a pie attack in recent weeks.

Mr Ahern was accompanied in the town by his party’s two outgoing TDs, Michael Kitt and Noel Treacy, as well as Fianna Fail hopeful Joe Callanan.
