The Dáil was suspended amid rowdy scenes this morning, as opposition parties slammed the Government for failing to provide remand places for juvenile delinquents.

The Dáil was suspended amid rowdy scenes this morning, as opposition parties slammed the Government for failing to provide remand places for juvenile delinquents.

It has emerged that the two boys involved in the fatal crash which killed two gardaí on Sunday, were refused places in Trinity House and Oberstown House last year.

Education Minister Michael Woods, who was deputising for the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste, admitted that there is only 31 remand places for underage offenders, but said there is now space for these boys.
