Three arrested after third-floor plunge

Dutch police have arrested three Irish people in connection with the disappearance of another Irishman in Amsterdam before the weekend.

The missing Galway man was thrown from a third-storey balcony in an incident police believe was drug-related.

He survived the fall, fled the scene and has not been seen since. Police have said they fear for his safety.

The three detainees, two men - one from West Cork and one from Carlow - and a woman from Kilkenny, were arrested in connection with the disappearance when police stopped their car in Amsterdam.

50,000 ecstasy tablets, believed to be destined for the Dublin market, were seized during the arrests.
