Hit-and-run death: Man held

Police in the North are questioning a man about a hit-and-run crash in west Belfast which claimed the life of a teenage girl.

Debbie McComb, 16, from Glenalina Park in the city, was fatally injured in the accident involving a stolen car on the Springfield Road.

Her friend, Bernadette Hall, was also injured in the collision on Friday night but later discharged from hospital.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman today confirmed a man had been arrested and was being questioned in connection with the incident.
