Man detained over fire at garda station in Dublin

Gardai in Dublin have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with an arson attack on the garda station in Ballymun last night.

A man entered the station at around 11.50pm, poured fuel from a container on to the floor of the public office and then set it alight.

The garda on duty evacuated the station and extinguished the fire before it caused much damage.

A man was later arrested on the nearby Ballymun Road and is currently being questioned at Santry Garda Station.
