New €36m scheme for schools announced

The Minister for Education, Doctor Michael Woods, has announced that he has approved the decision to increase the amount of money available for grants to schools to €36m.

The new scheme will devolve the responsibility for maintenance and minor refurbishment work to individual schools instead of the Department of Education.
