Two arrested after Garda car rammed

Two men have been arrested over a ramming incident involving a patrol car in Co Tipperary.

Gardai at Cahir were alerted to a jeep acting suspiciously in the Barnora area at around 1.30am.

When they arrived at the scene, the vehicle took off at speed and ploughed into the front of the Garda car.

Both occupants of the jeep were arrested and are being detained at Cahir Garda station.

The two gardai in the patrol car were treated for minor injuries.
