Man arrested over death of pensioner in Castlejordan

Gardai in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a pensioner in Castlejordan, Co Meath, 18 months ago.

The man was arrested in Dublin this afternoon and is being held in Edenderry, Co Offaly.

He was detained in relation to the death of 81-year-old Patrick Logan, who died after being attacked during a robbery at his home on June 5 last year.

Mr Logan’s 83-year-old brother, Peter, was also seriously injured in the attack.

A 26-year-old man from Lucan in Dublin was charged with serious assault in connection with the incident earlier this year.
