Nevin granted access to garda documents

The Court of Criminal Appeal has directed the DPP to give Catherine Nevin access to garda documents for her forthcoming appeal against her murder conviction.

Mrs Nevin is serving life imprisonment for the murder of her husband Tom at their Co Wicklow pub in 1996.

Catherine Nevin is appealing her conviction and has sought access to garda documents.

This morning the Court of Criminal Appeal granted access to certain documents drawn up in 1991, when Jack White's Inn was listed for discussion between the Revenue Commission and the Gardai.

However, the premises was later excluded from further investigation.

Catherine Nevin’s appeal is expected to commence within the next 12 months.
